If our rooms sound familiar, it's because they're named for trains of the Golden Age of rail travel, when a night on a train meant being soothed to sleep by the clackety-clack of the wheels and the gentle sway of the carriage.

And in point of fact, we receive lots of compliments on the blissful quality of sleep our guests experience here at Boxcar Willie Hotel, which is why we call our beds Boxcar Blissful Beds.

Our amenities are as dreamy as our rooms. Although you would never find some of them on a train (for example, our swimming pool and sauna), we think they exemplify the romance and adventure of old-fashioned train travel nonetheless. The list:

Starlight Queen Room

Named for the night train that traversed the Pacific coast, our Starlight Queen Room features two generously proportioned queen Boxcar Blissful Beds with Serta Perfect Sleeper mattresses. You'll also find a nightstand to hold all the show and attraction brochures you'll pick up here in Branson as well as the juicy books you Starlight Queen Room never have time to enjoy at home. You'll find a coffee maker and packets of our gourmet coffee so you can lounge around in your jammies sipping your morning brew before putting in an official appearance in our breakfast room. There's a an alarm clock for not setting—go ahead and sleep in!—a 27-inch TV discreetly housed its own armoire; and a mini-fridge for stashing cold drinks or snacks. Also on hand are a dresser with ample room for all the clothes you'll want to buy in Branson's bevy of shops, a cozy cafe table and chairs, a vanity with inset sink and wall-width mirror for admiring yourself in all that finery, a hair dryer for creating after-pool glamour 'dos; plus lots of thick, fluffy white towels and sparkling clean shower-over-tub. Christened with the quintessential moniker for American fast trains (even Lionel), our Flyer Queen Room for the physically challenged boasts all the amenities of the Starlight Queen Room (except TV armoire) with the added bonus of wheelchair accessibility as well as grab bars and seating bench in the shower-over-tub. Please note: This is a nonsmoking, non-pet room.

Sunset Queen Room

Named for the train routes running from New Orleans or San Antonio, Texas to Los Angeles, our Sunset Queen Smoking Room features all the amenities of the Starlight Queen Room and is earmarked for the smoker. No need to be sneaky about your ciggies! Please note: This is not a pet-friendly room.

Zephyr King Room

Christened after the train that took passengers from Chicago to Oakland, California, our Zephyr King Room boasts a luxuriously proportioned king Boxcar Blissful Bed with Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress. You'll also find two nightstands to hold the stack of Zephyr King Room fun reading your never seem to get to at home (leave the boring trade journals behind!); coffee maker and packets of our gourmet coffee; mini-fridge; our eminently viewable 27-inch TV, discreetly housed in its own armoire; and alarm clock—set it only if want to get up with the fish to go fishing on Branson's pristine lakes. Also on hand are a dresser with lots of space for the clothes you'll bring but never wear because it's more fun to model the new stuff you'll buy at Branson's scads of shops; cafe table and chairs for two; vanity with inset sink and large mirror for giving yourself flattering glances in your new duds. Silver Palm Pet Room

Named for the train that currently runs from New York to Miami, our Silver Palm Preferential Pet Room features all the amenities of the Starlight Queen Room. It also includes designer dog dishes—your pooch can put on the dog and you don't have to cart food and water bowls from home—and a matching designer dining mat for use during your stay. Also included are a daily gourmet canine cookie; take-home toy plus run (on leash) of our To All Trains Dog Walk. We are proud to be able to say we are a Pets Can Stay certified property. Please note: This is a nonsmoking room.

Orange Blossom Special Whirlpool Suite

Named for the famous train that ran from New York to Miami, our romantic Orange Blossom Special Whirlpool Suite features a sumptuously proportioned Boxcar Blissful Bed with Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress. You'll also find a decadently delicious oversized Orange Blossom Suite Bed whirlpool tub for two; separate shower for a quick refresh after a day of sightseeing or for staging your own version of a steamy movie scene; and a hair dryer for glamming up after. There's a private balcony—perfect for waving to your loyal fans on a whistle-stop campaign, for sipping a cup of fresh-brewed coffee in the morning or for relaxing in the evening breeze after a long day of on-vacation fun.
